This page sets out how Home Clean Guide decides what to publish, how articles are produced and checked, and what readers can expect when we get something wrong. It applies to every page on this site.

Independence

Recommendations are made on the merits of the product. Manufacturers and retailers have no input into our coverage. They cannot buy a placement, a score, or a mention, they do not see articles before publication, and affiliate commission rates are not a factor in ranking. Where a brand relationship exists beyond a standard affiliate program, we disclose it in the article itself.

How we choose what to cover

We cover product categories where readers face a genuine choice and where the differences between models have real consequences. We prioritize what people in the United States actually buy and search for, rather than what happens to pay the highest commission. Categories outside home cleaning are out of scope, even when they would be profitable.

How articles are produced

We use AI tools in our drafting and research process. Every article is reviewed, edited, and fact checked by a person before publication, and a person is accountable for what appears. Specifications, model numbers, and certification claims are verified against primary sources during that review. We do not publish unreviewed machine output, and we do not mass produce near identical articles that differ only by product name.

Accuracy

We do not publish figures we cannot trace to a source. Where a number comes from a manufacturer, we attribute it to the manufacturer rather than presenting it as an independent finding. We do not invent measurements, awards, expert quotes, or credentials. Where we lack data, we say so or describe the product qualitatively instead.

Corrections

When we get something wrong, we fix it in the article and note that it was updated. We do not delete an article to make an error disappear. If you find a mistake, write to [email protected] and tell us what is wrong and how you know. Reader corrections are one of the more reliable ways errors get caught.

Affiliate relationships

Home Clean Guide participates in affiliate programs, including the Amazon Associates Program, and earns commission on qualifying purchases made through links on this site. This never changes the price you pay. A disclosure appears above the first affiliate link in every article that contains one, not only in the footer. Full detail is in our Affiliate Disclaimer.

Health, safety, and regulated claims

We do not give medical advice and we do not present any product as a treatment for a health condition. Disinfectant, antibacterial, and sanitizing claims are regulated by the EPA in the United States, and we repeat them only for products carrying an EPA registration number, which we cite. Where a product carries genuine safety risk, including pressure washers, gas powered equipment, and cleaning chemicals, we include the relevant warnings rather than assuming the manual will be read.
